Sally Go Round = as S go around each hoola hoop and hit the drum, S must listen for each phrase to make sure they have proper timing for the drum hit

Trepak Dance Listening Lesson = S listen to the “Trepak Dance” from the Nutcracker and paint their pretend treehouse, S must listen to phrases of piece to time their movements properly

1. Can students “paint” the phrase as they listen to the “Trepak Dance” from the Nutcracker?
2. Can students hear as the music changes style and phrase, and exemplify this through their movement?
Tree Song = as S sing song, they grow with the phrase of the verse until the ending movement

1. Are students able to follow the lyrics of the song with correct movements?
2. Are students able to “grow” to show that they know where the end of the phrase is?
Nutcracker March Listening Map = S follow listening map as they listen to the “Nutcracker March”, S must listen to phrases to follow map correctly

1. Can students follow the map correctly while listening to the “Nutcracker March”?
2. Can students follow and point to where each phrase differs within the song?
